BIO [Information for this bio is sourced from WIKIPEDIA and MARVEL DIRECTORY] Remy LeBeau was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. They referred to the child as "le diable blanc" ("the white devil") and believed he was prophesied to unite the warring Thieves and Assassins Guilds. Soon after, Remy was placed in the care of Fagan's Mob, a gang of street thieves who raised the child and taught him the ways of thievery. After living as an orphan on the streets, a 10 year-old Remy attempted to pick the pocket of Jean-Luc LeBeau, then patriarch of the Thieves Guild. Jean-Luc took the boy off the streets and adopted him into his own family. As part of a peace pact between the Thieves Guild and their rivals, the Assassins Guild, a marriage was arranged between Gambit and Bella Donna Boudreaux, the granddaughter of the head of the Assassins. However, Bella Donna's brother Julien objected to the marriage and challenged Gambit to a duel. Severely wounding Julien, Gambit was forced to flee New Orleans to prevent war between the two guilds. Gambit wandered the world as he plied his skills as a master thief, aided by his mutant power to charge objects with explosive energy. He employed playing cards he charged with kinetic energy as his trademark weapon. Eventually, Gambit encountered the X-Man Storm, who sponsored Gambit's admission into the X-Men. Gambit has remained on the team ever since. He is now based at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters as a member of the X-Men team and declares one of the best days of his life as the day his divorce from Bella Donna came through just over a year ago. Remy is a bit elusive when he’s not on missions or in training. No one really knows what Remy gets up to in his spare time and most don’t want to know. Logan, however, has a tendency to mock Remy for being a slacker, much to Remy’s amusement. Gambit remains fiercely proud of his Louisiana heritage, and speaks in a very thick, Cajun accent. Gambit is fluent in various languages, primarily English and Cajun French, which he uses most often. Remy has a reputation for being a bit of a ladies man. He possesses a smooth and debonair personality and is more than a little bit of a flirt. Having the ultimate “bad boy” imagine, Remy rides a motorcycle, enjoys the benefits of leather and his biggest vices are smoking and sex. |
POWERS & ABILITIES Gambit is a mutant with the ability to charge inanimate objects with unstable kinetic energy. This usually causes the object in question to explosively release its charge on impact, when thrown at a target, or after a controlled time restraint. Gambit is skilled in card throwing with great accuracy, and all aspects of thievery. One of his trademark tricks is to hurl playing cards at an opponent, charging each card and turning it into a deadly projectile. Gambit's power provides him with superhuman agility, balance, coordination, dexterity, endurance, flexibility, precision, reflexes/reactions, and speed, possessing all the physical attributes of a human body naturally evolved for constant motion as a living generator of bio-kinetic energies. Gambit possesses a subtle hypnotic charm. He can compel people to believe what he says is true and to accede to his wishes using his speech, though some minds have proven to be immune. It has been stated that for his charm to work, the other person has to be unaware of it. Gambit customarily wears a suit of highly articulated light body armor and his weapon of choice is a telescopic metal staff. He is extensively trained in martial arts, particularly French kick-boxing, which coupled with his Thieves Guild training and natural mutant abilities, makes him a superhuman combatant. He is an excellent hand-to-hand combatant, utilizing street-fighting techniques and acrobatics. |
MUSE VERSES Remy "Gambit" LeBeau [ ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} dontdotricks] has two muse verses written on this journal:Verse 1) three's company (main) This is Remy's main verse where he is in a threesome relationship with Madison James [ canmakeufeel] and Flynn Marcus Hunter [strips4u]. He lives in an expensive loft apartment on the Upper East Side of New York City (probably funded by his many years of thievery) and is best friends with Rogue [justalilcontact]. He has just become godfather to Rogue's baby daughter, Mia, whom she just had with Dr Robert Chase [chasemd]. He still works for the X-Men, but is currently on a leave of absence after being shot in the back on a mission in Iraq. Most of Remy's RP in this verse is played out in ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} princeton2nyc, an RPG for members of this constructed and interwoven roleplay universe which also encompasses the House, M.D. fandom and original characters located in Princeton and New York City.The tag for this verse is: [verse] three's company (main) Verse 2) luxure (canon) This is a brand new verse for Remy that Rogue mun and I could no longer resist the tempation of. It is inspired by X-Men comic canon where Remy and Rogue are in a relationship together. Our aim is to explore some of their canon roots and explore Remy and Rogue in their X-Men environment, specifically the Rogue/Remy ship. We have already dabbled in this ship together in the pan-fandom RPG, etrelibre_rpg and it fast became a guilty pleasure of ours. The temptation to write it further out of the fantasy setting of etrelibre_rpg was too tempting, which is how this verse has come to fruition. 'Luxure' simply means 'Lust' in French.In this verse, both Remy and Rogue are still living at Xavier's and will start out in the early stages of an intense flirtation. So far, it's a blank slate, but they will both be linked to fellow X-Men muses in this verse, Logan/Wolverine [ hrtsevrytime] and Psylocke [psylocked], who are also part of the X-Men team. Remy is much less tamed in this verse than he is in his main verse and is still involved in a lot of questionable activities beyond his work with the X-Men. He remains an elusive and promiscuous mystery but his hungry attraction to Rogue can't be denied. ETRE LIBRE RPG At etrelibre_rpg's conception, Remy had been on the island of Etre Libre for three years. He arrived there directly in the midst of a battle with Sinister. Remy has a belief that he has been on the island for so long because he was killed in the stand-off and because of this, may never be able to return to his normal life.
